In the summer of 1979, a café named FEELINGS opened on Royal Street. Because of its success, one year later it moved to its present location, a location filled with history. The location is part of the first plantation land granted for private ownership by the first New Orleans settlers. In 1795, Nicholas D’Aunoy purchased the plantation and the land was incorporated into the Faubourg of Bernard Marigny, creating the present historical neighborhood of Faubourg Marigny. Under new ownership in 2015 we strive to maintain the historical and romantic nature of the restaurant while redesigning our menu to reflect a contemporary take on New Orleans cuisine.
